New - COMBO SUPER CHAMP Amp
We have taken the circuit of the Super Champ Head with all of the Class A Single -Ended Sweet Tone and put it into a custom stainless steel chassis with silkscreen lettering, added a custom power transformer, and build a cool new combo amp that ROCKS! This amp is available with a custom Mojotone 10" cabinet and Jensen speaker. The chassis is available as a kit or fully assembled. We also sell the whole amp assembled, tested and ready to go. This is the best small tube amp value available anywhere. This amp is 9 watts of sweet single ended tone with gain and volume and a sweet tone control. This is one dynamic mp with a low cost Jensen C10Q Speaker. We highly recommend it. It just blows away speakers costing three times as much.
The kit version of this amp features a stainless steel combo style chassis that is drilled and silkscreened for easy assembly. We supply an all new HTML Assembly Manual on CD with closeup photographs of every step and as always, we supply free email support. The power transformer is a custom wound high quality transformer with a tapped 6.3 volt heater supply. We have switched over to the Belton high quality sockets for this kit and all of our kits. These are much better than the Russian "tube base crushers". The kit comes standard with an insulated input jack to get true single point grounding and the resultant low hum. The Champ Head can deliver some serious drive by beefing up the power supply and adding another 6V6 output tube in PARALLEL! We also offer a SuperCharged Champ Head kit. Price for the new kit is $295 with the punched option and tone control and multi- tap Hammond 125CSE output transformer and Hammond power transfomer. Please not that the Supercharged amp comes complete with Master Volume and Tone control
Custom Built Supercharged Champ Head
This one has a 125CSE ,cloth wire, customs aluminum knobs, and a single point grounding system and master volume. It would make a fantastic Harp Amp. Mark Austin's nice Champ Head Project
Here are some pics of my Champ head, feel free to use any of this in your marketing. I really enjoyed building the champ head. Your directions are very good and it was a very manageable project. It's a great way to get a better understanding of amplifiers, too. This circuit puts out fantastic tone. In fact, now I realize how much my original '64 Vibro Champ is suffering from quite a few tired parts and even design shortcomings. A handmade, point to point amp simply puts out better sound than a 40 year old amp with a 40 year old transformer, tired caps, worn speaker, etc. I like old amps as much as the next guy, but stabilizing one of these beasts to get the hum down and the tone back is neither cheap nor easy. If money is a consideration, your champ head is really a no-brainer. Thanks for the kit! Mark, Austin, TX
